Upcoming US Rum Releases of Interest — July 2024

Here’s a new list of upcoming rum releases for the US market compiled from TTB label certifications approved in June 2024. These are only label approvals recorded at the US TTB, so none of these are likely to be available yet and it’s anyone’s guess when they might appear in stores.

This doesn’t include every rum label approval, I’ve tried to triage the approvals to the brands that people would recognize, while also including other labels that might be interesting but excluding spiced/flavored products and most cachacas.

The TTB approved 97 rum labels in total this month, 27 are covered here.

This month’s highlights include: A new US-only Habitation Velier blend of Hampden Estate marques, another Mhoba release from Holmes Cay, Peruvian rum, more Mexican rum brands, and the first rum released by the United Federation of Planets.

You may notice that I’m several months behind publishing these reports. I’ve bought a house in a new city and taken a new job since the last report, so I’ve been a bit distracted. Don’t worry though – I’ll be catching up and will have all of the backlogged reports published in the coming weeks (and starting next month the reports should be produced on time again).

This was filed twice, the second filing had a slightly different bottle neck label but appeared to be identical otherwise.

Redux Limited Single Cask Martinique, Approved 21 June 2024

I’m assuming (and hoping) that this filing is in error. The front label says this was distilled in Martinique, but the back label says it’s a product of Barbados, Dominican Republic, and Martinique… Again, apologies for the bad image assembly, WordPress’ Gallery plugin struggles with images with different aspects.

Redux Limited Single Cask Dominican Republic, Approved 21 June 2024.

Another hopeful label snafu – single cask DR on the front, but three different sources on the back. The UPC is the same as the Martinique bottle so I assume this is just an error in the filing.

This is very cool – a Habitation Velier release just for the US market, and selected by PM Spirits and Prestige-Ledroit. And a unique blend to boot.

William Hinton

The William Hinton releases from last month’s report are re-filed, the only information that appears to have changed is the importer, who is now listed as New France Wine Company in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I’m not going to include the revised labels here.
