Here’s a new list of upcoming rum releases for the US market compiled from TTB label certifications approved in August. These are only label approvals recorded at the US TTB, so none of these are likely to be available yet and it’s anyone’s guess when they might appear in stores.
This doesn’t include every rum label approval, I’ve tried to triage the approvals to the brands that people would recognize, while also including other labels that might be interesting. Last month I included several cachacas, but this month I’m excluding them because there were quite a few. The list also doesn’t include flavored/spiced rums.
This month’s highlights include more Mexican rums from Alambique Serrano, rhum agricoles from Damoiseau, a new Providence release from Haiti, Raising Glasses and Rolling Fork have a partnership bottling, Worthy Park is either rebranding Rum-Bar or adding line extensions, and Samaroli’s next batch of rums have approved labels.
Interesting things: A new rum from Uganda as well as one distilled at Missouri State University. And a rum for real, actual spies.
You can find the August edition of the report here.

Hampden Estate
Hampden received two approvals this month that were later surrendered. Both are for bottles from the forthcoming aged 8 marks set, and both are for labels that were already approved last month. These labels differ from the previously approved version by not having the mark defined (<>H was spelled out as “Diamond H” for example). I assume these were submitted by mistake which is why they were canceled. A label for HLCF is still not yet approved.
There’s really nothing new to note here, I’m just including these for completeness.

Purple Cane 9 YO Barbados rum, filed 7 July 2023.
Also see the Rolling Fork version of this label (this is a partnership bottling). Differences between the labels are minor.
Passport Six Nation Single Cask Blend, Filed 17 July 2023.
Rolling Fork
Purple Cane 9 YO Barbados rum, filed 3 August 2023.
Also see the Raising Glasses version of this label (this is a partnership bottling). Differences between the labels are minor.
Samaroli
These are the first American releases of 2023 for this noted Italian independent bottler. I assume their Australian release is from Beenleigh, and it’s great to see more bottlers bringing Beenleigh rums to the US!
SPQR Blended Rum IV Edition, Filed 18 August 2023.
Australia Rum, Filed 18 August 2023.
Grenada Rum, Filed 18 August 2023.
Nicaragua Rum, Filed 18 August 2023.
Worthy Park
All three were originally filed on 9 August but then replaced by the ones below from 21 August.
This is a new line from Worthy Park. Previously you’d only find these under their Rum-Bar label. I’m not sure if this is a sign that Rum-Bar might be retired or maybe these will be more premium versions of the Rum-Bar line. I honestly can’t see them giving up on the Rum-Bar brand so I assume these are extensions.
Silver, Filed 21 August 2023.
Overproof, Filed 21 August 2023.
Select (NAS), Filed 21 August 2023.
Other Releases of Note
Distillery Augustin Meles, Clairin Pignon, Filed 2 August 2023.
Bermudez Gran Reserva Aniversario, Filed 17 August 2023.
Kakira 5 YO, Filed 3 August 2023.
This might be the first Ugandan rum I’ve seen hit the US market. There’s a little confusion on the label – the front says it’s “Made from pure sugar cane” but on the back it says “pure Ugandan sugarcane molasses”. I assume it’s all molasses. The mention of the Kakira Sugar Estate sounds like this is a new single estate rum on the market!
Lyon NSA Special Edition, Filed 9 August 2023.
It’ll be interesting to see if this is something that’s only available internally at the NSA, or if it’s offered for sale at the NSA’s museum as well.
Missouri State University Select Rum, Filed 11 August 2023.
While Missouri doesn’t grow sugarcane, Missouri State’s Fruit Experiment Station does have a winery and distillery, which is where this was produced. I’d love to know more about this release!
Pampero Aniversario, Filed 17 August 2023.
San Miguel Solera, Filed 8 August 2023.
You don’t see a lot of Ecuadorian rum on the market, and I’ve never tried one before (I tried, but Rombo’s shipment to me was lost and they refused to re-ship or refund so don’t buy from rombo.dk!).
Selection Canoubier Rum Guadeloupe, Filed 5 August 2023.
Another US release from the French independent bottler.
Thrashers Queen’s Share, Filed 1 August 2023.
